redLantern™ was established as the new organization name (replacing DARS) for our expanding suite of products in the summer of 2008. In March 2009, the assets of Miami University's redLantern operations were purchased by the same owner as CollegeSource, Inc., and redLantern, LLC was formed. Today, redLantern continues to develop and support educational software solutions throughout the academic community.
redLantern's software solutions are continually being developed based on client enhancement requests and the growing trends within education today. redLantern’s powerful and innovative suite of software solutions can be customized to meet the unique needs of individual campuses. redLantern's software solutions will strengthen and unify your institution while enhancing each student’s educational experience.
u.direct™
u.direct (formerly Degree Completion Planner) the newest addition to redLantern , is a Web-based planning tool that allows students and advisors to create and maintain a detailed term-by-term, multi-year, course plan for students to use as a guide toward degree completion. For institutions, u.direct provides dynamic course tracking, true course demand tracking, a seamless interface to course catalogs and bi-directional integration between the school’s SIS and u.direct.
u.select™
In the late 1990s, redLantern – with the support of the Ohio Board of Regents and the Arizona Board of Regents – developed a Web-based, student transfer support system known as u.select (formerly Course Applicability System). u.select enables students, advisors, faculty and administrators to obtain consistent and accurate information about how courses will transfer from one school to another. u.select also shows how those courses will apply to meet user-selected academic program requirements at other u.select member institutions. Using u.select provides a more efficient, more accessible, and virtually paper-free process to help transfer students earn their degrees in a timely manner.
u.achieve™
u.achieve (formerly DARwin) has evolved over the years to include an interactive, concise audit report that has a flexible, robust system behind it supporting the complex rules and program requirements of contemporary education institutions. Today u.achieve can be viewed in hard copy or over the Web. Many u.achieve institutions use the results of their audit reports to determine final degree certification. u.achieve also includes a powerful transfer course articulation component that can report evaluated courses by institution, with or without summary GPA information. Additionally, u.achieve can include references to other institutions’ courses that are equivalent to courses still necessary for degree completion.
