u.achieve Implementation Considerations

Any degree audit / transfer articulation product requires an investment of time due to the intricacies of the various academic programs. The u.achieve solution is proven to handle the most complex academic requirements. Technical and functional staff dedication is the key to success along with pre-installation planning and execution.

This first action is to create an implementation team. Suggested members are:

  1. Administrator/Leader
  2. Graduation Certification Auditor
  3. Transfer Course Evaluator
  4. Advisor/Counselor
  5. Technical Support

The team is responsible for managing expectations by establishing a realistic timeline and coordinating efforts. Those efforts will include reviewing academic policies for clarification and understanding, examining degree programs to learn 'real world' application of requirements and establishing relationships with transfer institutions through articulation agreements or course evaluation.

Implementation should begin with a pilot of volunteer colleges or departments. Often, success is achieved when one degree program is implemented completely before moving on to another. Once the first is complete, the other programs follow more efficiently. However, it is important to communicate the progress and successes with the broader campus community. There are critical decisions to be made regarding centralized or de-centralized control of u.achieve and u.select. Broad communication and inclusion of the entire campus will create continued support and momentum throughout the institution.
