![]() u.select Featuresu.select™ was developed by redLantern™ to provide prospective students and their advisors with direct access to information about course equivalencies, programs, courses and degree audits in a Web environment.u.select is an information access tool and serves as a gateway to participating institutions’ automated degree audit and transfer articulation systems. Users have the option of viewing course-by-course equivalencies, viewing requirements of a degree, entering and storing course work, as well as requesting an evaluation of transfer work against a program. The institutions from which they may request this information must be participating institutions in u.select.Search Schools A quick and easy way to look up campus information about most colleges and universities. View various details from school type, awards offered, campus environment, student population, and more.
ProgramsA display of the programs offered at each institution and their requirements. These planning guides can be automatically generated from the same requirements used by u.select to evaluate the student's courses.Course EquivalenciesA visual display of the transfer articulation rules/tables that depict how a course(s) will be transferred from one selected institution to another. My Coursesu.select provides a semi-permanent storage area for students/members to enter their course work; either already taken or planned for the future. This information will then be used to produce the desired planning guides from any participating u.select institution.Create PlansEnables the student/member to enter the criteria necessary, such as which institution is my destination, which program, and which institution do I want a cross reference back to, to create personalized plans. The student's coursework will then be evaluated against the program requirements through the school's degree audit and displayed in u.select.View PlansShows the student/member the list of plans that have been run and enables their viewing/printing. The plans typically report how the transfer courses are articulated and how they apply towards the chosen degree. Optionally, the report can also show what courses can still be taken at their current - or other cross-referenced institution - which will transfer to and satisfy requirements within this selected program.
A user can also create an account, which allows him/her many more possibilities. Creating an account in u.select is free of charge. Once an account is established, the user enters course history (either by typing in courses, choosing courses from a course bank, or electronically importing a transcript) and then requests a planning guide showing progress toward a specific degree at a potential receiving institution. The history is saved in u.select, which the user can return to in the future to obtain new information. Want to find out more? Check out u.select at www.transfer.org.
