u.select System Requirements

Technical Specifications

u.select is a Web application. Each u.select instance is a node in the u.select network. u.select sites should use at least two physical tiers, separating the Web/application and database. u.select also works well in three tier and load balanced environments. Hardware requirements vary due to many factors including but not limited to type of operating system, type of application server, shared or standalone application server, concurrent users and their usage.

The minimum specifications for a standalone u.select Web/application server are:

  • 2 x 3.66 GHz CPU
  • 8GB RAM
  • 20GB disk space

u.select meets 508 requirements for Web accessibility. In addition to 508, u.select also follows Priority 1 and Priority 2 and most of Priority 3 WCAG 1.0 guidelines. u.select works seamlessly with the u.achieve (formerly DARwin) degree audit, although u.select was created to interface with any degree audit system.
